RESPONSIBLE LOCAL HOBBY BREEDERS
Since 2013, we have had the great privilege to offer healthy, happy and beautiful Mongolian gerbils to responsible individuals and families looking to add love into their lives.
We strive to only breed as close as possible to AGS standards, and to maintain a breeding program which lowers the incidence of genetic disorders.
Pet store gerbils usually come from less-than-loving beginnings. Their exact age and health history is unknown and they can be skittish. Inbred and mis-sorted pregnant gerbils are sold commercially every day.
Our gerbils are loved and handled from the day they’re born. They go home as healthy and happy pups eager to interact with you. We keep careful records of all gerbils which are available to each adopting family. We also offer post-adoption support free of charge.
Additionally we strive to educate others about gerbil ownership and rescue. Texas has a steadily growing and wonderful community of gerbil enthusiasts and we are proud to be a part of it.
Thank you so much for what you do. These two girls are so social! We surprised our daughter this morning for her 6th Birthday and she’s so happy!

Within an hour of arriving home this afternoon, Nutmeg crawled into our daughter’s hand and went to sleep. They are lovely!

We had a wonderful experience adopting our two new baby boy gerbils. Greta is extremely knowledgeable about the biology and care of gerbils. I could have talked to her for hours. She spent quite a bit of time giving me information in the best interest of the gerbils. Thank you and you get my highest recommendation.
Helene E.Austin, Texas
Our daughter is so happy with the two boys we adopted. They are settling in nicely 🙂 Well worth the drive through that nasty weather, to Austin. Thanks so much!!
Holly D.Houston, Texas
We love our gerbil boys, they are so much fun! Thanks so much for all your help with our set up.
Shannon B.Austin, Texas
My two little guys were happy and healthy from the moment I adopted them and it’s obvious that Greta takes really good care of all the gerbils she has; I’ll be recommending her to anybody I know who’s interested in gerbils for sure!
Diane H.Austin, Texas
The boys are doing great. They’ve made such a cute “town” in their tank with tunnels for roads! Adair is so friendly and tame! He lets me hold and pet him for quite a while. He likes to go through the tunnels, while Linus likes to go OVER them lol. Thank you so much!
Jenni B.Austin, Texas
The girls love to play with them and watch them play. They have been a fun addition to the family. Thanks!
Kelly M.San Marcos, Texas
We adopted two girl pups today and our experience with Greta, leading up to today, was thorough and professional. We have already recommended her to several friends!
Ana-Maria P.San Antonio, Texas
The gerbils are doing great! Our daughter is enjoying them so much. She really loves them. She’s been putting out an agility course for them every night using her Legos and treating them with sunflower seeds. It’s really cute.
Marisa G.Dallas, Texas
We’re very happy with our gerbils. My daughter named them Brownie and Popper and we have a lot of fun with them. It’s so amazing that little creatures differentiate themselves with their very own character. Brownie likes to eat, she loves nuts and oatmeal, is going wild over paper rolls, while Popper (we call her Ms. Popper, she is the white one) is an elegant and dignified little gerbil. They adjusted very well and are just the right pet for the kids at the moment.

I love my Texas gerbils! <3

Wanted to thank you for the two sweet boys we adopted over Christmas…They are both so cute! The siamese (now Jimmy) is very cuddly and loved to have his head rubbed. The agouti (now Little Rascal) is adventurous and curious.
Jennifer M.Dripping Springs, Texas
Hello Gerbil Whisperer. The boys LOVE each other. They are so happy together. They spend all day either snuggling, grooming or playing. In fact if we pick one up they look around for each other until they are together again. Thank you so much for the way you helped our little family.
Catherine S.Austin, Texas
They seem great. Active, eating, running around. Thanks!
John S.Austin, Texas
The gerbils are doing great. Our daughter loves organizing their little habitat. Thanks so much for giving them a great start!
Blake W.Houston, Texas
We are blessed to have a pair of your gerbils.
Diane K.Austin, Texas
I just wanted to let you know that the gerbil teenagers are thrilled to be in their new home. The seven year old is also thrilled with them. She takes frequent breaks from playing to go “check on the boys” and report back on what they’re up to. Nothing but friendly interaction so far. No nips. 🙂 Thanks again!
Christy D.Austin. Texas
I got my 2 female gerbils a few months ago and they are amazing little pets! They always run up to me and greet me when i go by their tank. It’s so fun watching them tunnel, burrow, and chew, chew, chew! They’ve never once bitten me; they’re so tame! I love these little girls to pieces- they always manage to make me smile! I’ve had 5 hamsters in the past and gerbils are so much funner than hamsters! If you’re unsure about what small animal to get, get a gerbil from greta. You won’t regret it 🙂
Jennifer F.Dallas, Texas
Warm personality, well trained and clean gerbils. Greta was very flexible with me!
Chua Yang K.Singapore
We adopted Midnight from Greta to pair with our lone gerbil Chewy. We finally took out the dividing screen just after noon today and as of 4pm they are snuggled and curled together fast asleep. Whew!! They’ve both been too long without someone to cuddle with! Thank you again for this sweet little girl. She is spunky!
Jessica D.Austin, Texas
Fleur has settled in nicley, and it looks like she has grown. The two of them get along really well in the cage, they never fight, and they sleep in the same nest every night. Thank you.
Anna D.Cedar Park, Texas
Kids LOVED the little additions to our family. Everyone hit it off quite well. The orange one is now Gingersnap and the grey one is Belka. Thank you!
Julia R.San Antonio, Texas
Our gerbils are doing great. We were satisfied with how thorough they were during the adoption process and even followed up with us after a couple weeks.
Steve B.Round Rock, Texas
The gerbils are doing great! My daughter named them Lightning (because she is so fast!) and Comet. They are both eating and drinking fine. Comet is the chubbier one of the two 🙂 They have grown so much since we first brought them home in April and I think their colors are so beautiful. Thank you again for giving us the opportunity to welcome them into our family. They are so adorable and we love them so much!
Nicole A.San Antonio, Texas
Our gerbils will now come to our hands for seeds and our son is working on spending time with them so they get used to him. Very smart gerbils. 🙂
